Wireless Home Theater Speakers & Systems

Although labeled wireless, everyone must realize that wireless home theater speakers are actually not completely cordless. Any unit marked with such term still needs some sort of connectivity to the power source for it to work. It is also typical for these devices to require amplification, which can be done in two ways. First is through an integrated amplifier, and the other is by the use of an external device. This amplification requirement will not even work without power.

So what most manufacturers and designers of different sound technologies consider as wireless home theater system speakers are the ones that are battery powered. There is a limit to these systems though when application is involved. Most of the wireless home theater speakers are made to suit an external space, or it can be used for multi-room audio. Now, knowing that they are just battery powered, it is expected to see the wireless speakers that are used in home entertainment centers requiring battery recharging as the batteries they carry cannot just simply provide enough audio power. The key then to finding the right wireless home theater speakers is knowledge on the technologies used for each available unit.

There are two basic approaches to wireless home theater systems. First and foremost, the models are designed to work with typical add-ons. These include a sender system that links the sound to the rear channeled speakers through the audio and video receiver. Wireless digital technologies of this kind operate to transmit an audio signal to an audio receiver located at the back of the home theater.

It is also typical for the add-ons based wireless home theater speakers to come with power amplifiers that are built into the units should there be a need to drive a rear channel speaker. When linked correctly, the wireless home theater system you install in your room will bring a sound wave of between 25W to 50W RMS for every channel.

On the other hand, the wireless home theater systems are powered through an integrated power provider. Speakers of this kind are great to buy as they come complete with all the speaker units needed. The package also includes an audio wireless set up suitable to rear home theater speakers, and unlike the first mentioned type, the integrated wireless home theater speakers support a lot of interesting control features for all sound channels.

No matter what type of wireless home theater speakers you buy for your home entertainment center, always keep in mind most of the speakers you can find today are limited in numbers. To get a good option, know how much you can afford to get a complete, good performing package. Lots of names and brands are available today, after all.

Curious if you can help with someting. I have been doing research for a few weeks and can’t seem to find anything to compare with the Bose V20 system. I would like to purchase a system for my home that I can control all of my AV needs inside and outside by the pool. Ideal system would have universal remote that could control from outside to switch from Ipod, TV, or Radio and possibly stream from the PC too if possible. Realize that this may be several components, but looking to spend about 3K and already have quality outdoor speakers. Thanks and sorry in advance if this is not the correct forum for suggestions, but like your site and it appears to have great information, but didn’t see a email anywhere.
